So me and my wife went to Martinique a French speaking island in the Caribbean that understands English but may have some trouble speaking English but you can understand them. Over all a very nice Caribbean island but there is one thing you have to watch out for and be very aware of. First few nights we stayed at a bed & breakfast that cooked for you in the morning and never charged you extra for the food and the food was good and over all a very nice place to stay about one and a half miles from town. The next few nights we stayed at a bed & breakfast closer to town but over all really not that nice and they also cooked food in the morning and when we went to check out they charged us for the food they cooked in the morning and tried to charge us extra for meals we did not eat. One owner got very mad at my wife about trying to scam us and I open my mouth and we did not pay for the extra meals we did not eat. Needless to say after we left we gave them a very bad review online. So be very careful with travel to Martinique and the extra charges at bed & breakfast places because you may have a big bill when you check out for food you thought was included with your stay.
